Thanksgiving Day

November 27, 2008

We had an absolute great time on Thanksgiving this year. We all went to Cristi's house in Preston and when I say all it was all of us. That is the first time since I can remember we were all together for a happy occasion. We had tons of great food, thanks Cristi it was delicious, and lots of fun; especially the kids. They played so hard and had such a great time. They played outside on the tramp, swings, playing in the sandbox, seeing the horse & kitties, playing football and basketball. They also had a great time playing Rock Band. It was so funny to watch them trying to play the music, even when they messed up they had a blast.

I am so thankful that we could all get together this year and spend the holiday as a family. Thanks to all of you for such a wonderful day.

Bryan, Cristi, Kylie, Codi & Colton; We love you and thank you for the great food and letting us all invade your house.

Thad, Kayla, Riley & Tanton; We love you and thank you for coming and spending Thanksgiving with us.

Tracy, Angela & Aiden; We love you and thank you for sharing the holiday with family.

Mom and Mike; We love you and thank you for providing most of the food and for gathering us all together for such a happy and fun occasion.

I think I got pictures of just about everyone on here. I just didn't want to leave out any of the great fun we had.

Christmas Dresses

Every year around Christmas time I always buy the girls a new dress which we call their Christmas dress. Today they all decided it was time to start wearing them to church, so I had to get a picture of them all. I let the girls pick them out online, but with the direction that they all had to somewhat match. I did this so I could use them for pictures later. I think they did a pretty good job of accomplishing it, except Taysa still needs a new pair of black church shoes, so she wore her black boots instead. I love Cloe standing there with her hands on her hips!

Crazy little girl

November 13, 2008
I just had to post this way cute picture of my friends baby. This is Kandice. She's 15 months old. My friend, Keri, and I trade babysitting once a week and on this Thursday when she came to my house she was wearing underwear over her diaper. When I changed her diaper I decided not to put the underwear back on. Well, Kandice decided she was going to wear it only on her head. We all had a good laugh over it and she thought it was great.

Taysa's glasses

November 7, 2008
Taysa has been getting headaches quite regularly, so we decided to start with the easiest thing, to get her eyes checked. On Halloween, she went to the eye doctor. Who knew you could do so well in school and not actually be able to see the board? Taysa could barely read any of the letters on the chart. Obviously she needed glasses. Sitting there in the doctors office she tells me, "I think my 3rd grade teacher always wrote really small because I could never see the board." Right then I felt about an inch tall. She needed glasses long ago and I had no idea. Well, she can now see and things are much better. She was really worried in the beginning about wearing glasses. She was afraid she would be made fun of. When we first picked up her glasses she kept saying, "Wow!!! I can actually see. I didn't know things looked like this." Now, she could care less what anyone has to say about it. She loves her glasses because she can see.

The new improved Taysa!

Brooklyn and Cloe decided they had to have a picture with Taysa.

We'll miss you Uncle Cordell

November 3, 2008
Today was my uncle Cordell's funeral in Freedom. Cordell passed away October 29, 2008 suddenly. The funeral turned out very well. His kids did such a great job. However; it did bring back too many sad memories. As I watched my cousins and my aunt cope with their loss, I relived losing my dad. It was hard to see them in so much pain, because I knew exactly how they felt. It's not easy. A few of my cousins kept asking me, "Does it ever get any easier?" I told them it does, but the pain never goes away and you wouldn't want it to. If the pain goes away, to me that means I am forgetting him. I will always remember my dad. I will always remember my uncle Cordell and everything he has done for me and my family. He and my aunt Annette were right there by our sides through my dad's funeral. They were with us every step of the way and I will never forget that. I don't know if we could have made it through without these people. So thank you! We love you Annette, Curtis, Kelly, Karen, Kim, Kyle and Kade. We will miss you uncle Cordell. All our love.

HENRY CORDELL LUTHI AUGUST 27, 1940 - OCTOBER 29, 2008

This picture is sort of ironic to me. This picture is of my dad and my uncle Cordell. This is the last picture taken of my dad before he died. I have always kept this picture in my nightstand drawer and have been known to use it as a bookmark. This picture now takes on a whole new meaning to me.

Cristi and I decorated dad's grave for the fall. We've never been able to do that before. It is a long drive to Freedom and we don't seem to get there often enough. Miss you dad!

Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2008
This year we did something a little different for Halloween. We didn't stay home and hand out candy and trick-or-treat the neighborhood. Instead we went to some friends house in Idaho Falls. They had a Halloween party and took the kids trick-or-treating around their neighborhood. It was lots of fun. The girls all dressed up as witches this year. They classified themselves as follows: Taysa - Scarecrow witch, Brooklyn - Bat witch and Cloe - Fairy witch. Whatever works for them. Happy Halloween!!!

The Tree House Museum Enchanted Woods

October 4, 2008
Saturday of our trip we went to the Tree House Museum in Ogden. It was a lot of fun. We did what they called the Enchanted Woods for Halloween. The kids went around from station to station and listened to different stories and then got to trick-or-treat at each one. The only problem is I didn't get any good pictures.

Here the girls are coloring.

Hogle Zoo!!!

October 3, 2008
I think the girls would tell you the best part of this day was our stop at Build A Bear Workshop. Grandma spoiled them here and I forgot to get any pictures. Then on we went to Hogle Zoo. We had so much fun walking around checking out all the animals. Taysa went crazy with the camera, taking pictures of every animal she could find. I'm surprised my camera has any room left on it. We spent hours wandering around until the sky turned black and it started to sprinkle. So we headed to the car. Just as we got inside the rain began. Perfect timing.

The girls with grandma watching the giraffes.

Here we are at the Tiger Venue. This tiger swam back and forth in front of this window. Just after I snapped this picture, the tiger stopped, turned and looked right into Taysa's face. I can't believe I missed the picture. It was so cool. I think it scared Taysa half to death.

The Drive!

October 2, 2008
On our drive to Ogden, I think the girls got a little bored. Taysa started taking pictures of them pulling faces. Then she started snapping pictures of the fall colors through the canyon. I think she did a pretty good job.

Harvest Break Adventure!

October 2, 2008
The girls are finally out of school for Harvest Break. For those of you who don't know what Harvest Break is, our school district gives the kids two weeks off school to help harvest the potatoes. They must have had too many kids pulled out of school to help on the family farms, so they finally made it an official break from school. For us, it's just a fun little break from the every day life of school.
The girls and I took a little trip to Utah to stay with Mom and Mike. On our way we stopped at Cristi's house, Preston, to visit her and the kids. The girls had so much fun riding the four wheeler and the Rhino. Thanks for all the fun rides! It was hard to pull them away to head down to Ogden. We finally did get on the road and made it to Ogden only about and hour later than planned.
